Zeta Psi Chapter Information

The Zeta Psi Chapter was founded on August 22nd, 1982 by the following band members:
  • Judy Cantona
  • Susan Crane
  • Susan Green
  • Ellen McLoughlin
  • Terri Roberts
  • Nancy Sterling
  • Harriet Thiele
  • Phyllis Weinberg
Charter We have proudly been serving the Music Department at UCF, including the UCF Marching Knights, since our Chapter was established. Currently we have 30 active sisters, and have crossed 455 sisters and honorary members since our founding date.

Our big sister chapter is Beta Xi at the University of Florida, and our three little sister chapters are Theta Rho at Bethune Cookman University, Eta Xi at Georgia Southern University, and Iota Chi at the University of South Florida.

Originally, we started with eight families. They were:
  • Penguin
  • Cat
  • Deer
  • Pig
  • Turtle
  • Flamingo
  • Mouse
  • Frog
Eventually, all but the Pig Family died out, and the chapter decided to create new families. Thus, our chapter animal was formed, and the pig continues to be a mascot of sorts for Zeta Psi this very day.

Since the last reorganization of the families, we have lost and created a few. Currently, we have six. They are:
  • Manatee
  • Celestial Manatee Manatee
  • Dolphin
  • Golden Eagle
  • Whale
  • Shark
